Come see me at Salt Lake Comic Con FanXperience tomorrow!

Hey everyone in Utah, I’ll be at FanX on Saturday, so you should come on down. I know a lot of you want to get Firefight signed—the booth I’m signing at won’t have copies (though we will have some of my older big titles), but the Shadow Mountain booth will have Firefight, or you can bring your own. I’ll be happy to sign any of my books you bring.

I’m doing a panel with Dan Wells where we shoot the breeze and take a bunch of audience questions. My most significant panel of this convention will be the Infinity Blade panel I’m doing with the folks from ChAIR. We’ll also have a very limited number of convention exclusive hardcovers of Infinity Blade: Redemption for sale at the signing.

I hope to see many of you there! Here’s my full schedule.

1:00–1:50 p.m. Room 250A
The Brandon and Dan Show
Brandon Sanderson and Dan Wells on writing and anything else.

2:00–2:50 p.m. Room 250A
The Infinity Blade Universe
Brandon joins Donald Mustard, Creative Director, and Geremy Mustard, Technical Director of ChAIR Entertainment to discuss their collaboration on the Infinity Blade series. The panel will be followed by an autograph signing and release of the limited edition hardcovers for Infinity Blade: Redemption, the latest novel in the series.

3:30–5:30 p.m. Badali Jewelry Booth #1410
Brandon Sanderson, Donald Mustard, & Geremy Mustard Signing
The Infinity Blade: Redemption exclusive hardcover will be available at the signing. There should be a few other books for sale, but if you want to buy Firefight stop off at the Shadow Mountain booth (#2007) before coming to the signing. Badali will also have Cosmere jewelry for sale at the signing.

The expo floor closes at 6:00 p.m.

Low-priced ebooks including The Alloy of Law https://www.brandonsanderson.com/low-priced-ebooks-including-the-alloy-of-law/ Sat, 29 Nov 2014 01:16:37 +0000 https://dragonsteel.wpmudev.host/?p=4382

Low-priced ebooks including The Alloy of Law

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m signing today in Idaho Falls. But there are some ebooks at low prices that I want to talk about. For links to where you can buy these books, click on the titles below.

The second Legion book, Legion: Skin Deep, which came out this week, is $4.99 (or around there, depending on the currency—except in the UK and associated territories, where it’s not yet available).

The Alloy of Law is $2.99 today only on most of the ebook stores in the US.
This is technically the fourth Mistborn book, but it takes place hundreds of years after the original trilogy, and a number of people have read this one first and really enjoyed it. If you haven’t yet read the Mistborn Trilogy, don’t be afraid to pick this one up.

The Way of Kings, the first book in the Stormlight Archive, is still free in the US on the iBookstore and in iTunes (even on Windows) for the rest of the year. It’s sold without DRM (as are all of my Tor books), so you can get it there and read it any way you like.

And the second Stormlight book, Words of Radiance is $3.75 right now in the US on Kindle and Google Play. I don’t know how long that price will last.

Legion is $2.99 (or close equivalent) worldwide. And I mention its sequel above. My recent Cosmere novella Sixth of the Dusk is also $2.99. My Hugo Award-winning novella The Emperor’s Soul is $4.99 (or less in some countries). And both Infinity Blade books are $2.99.

Infinity Blade fan film kickstarter https://www.brandonsanderson.com/infinity-blade-fan-film-kickstarter/ Fri, 05 Sep 2014 06:05:16 +0000 https://dragonsteel.wpmudev.host/?p=4445

Infinity Blade fan film kickstarter

Hey all. I found out about this recently, and it looks pretty cool to me. A couple of fans want to make a live-action fan film for the Infinity Blade story. (If you’re not familiar with Infinity Blade, it’s a series of iOS games by ChAIR Entertainment/Epic Games that I also wrote two novellas for, Infinity Blade: Awakening and Infinity Blade: Redemption.)

They have a script and have some actors lined up. I’m not familiar with their actors for Raidriar and Isa, but they also have Christopher Judge who played Teal’c on Stargate: SG-1. My assistant Peter is a big fan of his work on that show, so that’s a great endorsement there.

I also found out that David Powell, who is one of Badali Jewelry’s jewelers (they do the Stormlight, Mistborn, Elantris, and Wheel of Time jewelry), is making armor for the Infinity Blade fan film project. They do awesome work, so I’m sure it will look really good!

Since this is a fan film, neither I nor the ChAIR folks are involved in any official capacity, but it’s still very cool. I hope you will check it out. There’s a lot more information on their Kickstarter page.

Infinity Blade: Redemption + Updates

Hey, all! I had an exciting time at Worldcon, as you might have heard. I’m working on a long blog post about the experience, and it will go up tomorrow. (Actually, be sure to check my site tomorrow regardless…)

For today, though, I wanted to announce the release of my second and final Infinity Blade novella! It’s out now on the iBookstore, with a short exclusive period for them. I believe it is DRM-free, and it will move to other ebook platforms next week.

If you aren’t familiar with this project, these are based on a game series made by some friends of mine in Salt Lake City. The games are awesome, and have been bestsellers on iOS devices. I did one other novella bridging the first and second games, and now have written one taking place after the second game. It’s been a fun experience; they’ve really let me onto the team, and I’ve been able to have a lot to do with the story development of the entire series.

Pictures of Hugo Awards tomorrow!

In other news, my assistant Peter has uploaded another Twitter posts archive, covering August.

A bit of catch-up on the Writing Excuses podcast: We did episodes on making non-human characters relatablesurvivorship bias, and a guest episode with Jeph Jacques of Questionable Content about digging yourself out of holes.
