Stone Cali-Belgique IPA
Brewery: Stone
Beer Style: Belgian IPA
Serving: Bottle poured into pint glass
Abv: 6.9%
Background: Stone decided to do something new with an IPA with their hop-bursting technique and some Belgian yeast. The result is excellent. Read more about this here.
Aroma and Taste: The beer smells of hops! Strong, bitter, and forceful hops! This is a hop lover’s dream. A champagne-like aroma is present as well, but faint. When one first drinks this beer the hops greet you and linger until the finish. The Belgian yeast is slowly nibbling at your taste buds as well throughout imbibing this beverage.
Final Analysis: If you love hops and love Belgian beer this is your beer for the taking. Otherwise, stay clear of it. This is not the beer for someone who cannot appreciate and or love hops. This isn’t beer I drink often, but when I do, I savor it!
