Newcastle Brown Ale

Newcastle Brown Ale

Country of Origin: England

Beer Style: Brown Ale

Abv: 4.7%

Brewery: Tadcaster

Background: I have never been fond of brown ales. I was eager to discover something new though. In concordance with my English beer survey, I decided to look into Newcastle Brown Ale. I am glad I did. My interest in this beer style has not necessarily been awakened but I’m alerted to exploring the potential in this style.

Taste & Aroma: This is a nut brown ale. The nose is a woody malt with a slight caramel note. The taste is sweet, but there is a small hop backbone that balances it. This is not sickly sweet like other brown ales that I have had. A sharp bite at the end shows this beer’s balance.

Pending Analysis: This is a beer that I need to try on draught. I’m eager to continue my survey of English beers, and I’m glad this one was included in my canvas. Why don’t you have a Newcastle Brown? I’m glad I did.
