Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale, an incredible ABInBev product

Beer: Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale

Beer Style: Unfiltered Wheat: American Hefeweizen

Serving method: 12 oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass

Brewery: Anheuser-Busch InBev (Goose Island Beer Company is a subsidiary)

Country of Origin: United States of America

Background: I had this beer once at Goose Island’s Clybourne Brewery years ago. Delicious then, and delicious now, this is one of those easy drinking beers you can always go back to!

Taste & Aroma: Bananas and malt hit your nose right away before you take the first sip. If it smells good, it generally tastes good. You’ll have a clean bright start with this beer, and then be hit by bananas, malt, and a tad bit of biscuity hop! The finish is clean too. This macro beer is no slouch on taste or aroma.

Final Analysis: This may be a macro brew. I know what you are thinking. “I drink craft beer. Who does he take me for?” Well, friend, there is no crime in drinking and enjoying a macro brew. I love a good Budweiser and sometimes you cannot beat the taste of one after mowing a lawn or a rough day at the office. Budweiser Select is brilliant along with Black Crown too. Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale was originally a craft beer after all. The fact that it has changed ownership should not lead you astray from enjoying it. I’ll be going back to UK beers soon, but now and then a macro beer will be reviewed and enjoyed by me on this blog.
