Background: When I was a wee lad, I was always captivated by beverages. It was coffee at first. I loved Dad’s coffee. Then I started drinking Coffee. Love at first Folgers there! When it came to beer I was always fascinated by the beer culture of the United Kingdom and the German-speaking countries. When I turned twenty-one I finally had the opportunity to explore these cultures.
Erdinger Weissbier is the jewel of the crown of the Erdinger Brewery. I’m proud to say that I love this beer and I buy it often. This is a beer that is enjoyable from the bottle and from the tap.
Taste & Aroma: Bananas and dark fruit are present right in the nose. The flavor is peppery, fruity, and layered with little pips of citrus fruit. There isn’t much bite to this beer. The finish is a lingering lemony malt.
Final Analysis: Erdinger Weissbier is a beer I always reach for when I have a hankerin for a Hefeweizen. Tried it? Great! Why haven’t you tried it, if not? What is your excuse?
