Background: I’m not in school anymore, but this is still my favorite time of year. Warmer weather, barbecues, picnics, vacations, etc… This is a time of freedom and enjoyment still. Although, it is one of the busiest times of year for me, I still enjoy and adore summer. Furthermore, some exceptional seasonal beers hit the ground running once summer rolls around.
Sierra Nevada, one of my all time favorite breweries has Summerfest. Summerfest is an incredible summertime beer which overflows with character. Summerfest wasn’t the beer at my wedding, that was the pale ale. Which shockingly, I’ve not reviewed yet on this blog. Check out Torpedo. Time to celebrate the arrival of summer.
Taste & Aroma: The nose here is what you would expect of a beer of this style, floral hops tickle the nose long before you take a sip. The initial sip is a spicy hop with a honeyed, bready malt, followed by a crisp bite at the finish. This beer has a lingering finish too. This is as good as Pilsner Urquell!!
Final Analysis: Summer is here! Celebrate with a Summerfest by Sierra Nevada.
