Beer: Pinedrops IPA
Brewery: Deschutes Brewery
Beer Style: IPA
Abv: 6.5%
Serving Methodology: 12 oz bottle poured into pint glass
Country of Origin: United States of America
Background: Some IPAs aren’t really IPAs. Some IPAs are some of the best examples of their beer style. This is one of them. I reviewed another Deschutes beer recently. This is a second in a long series continuing now.
Taste & Aroma: Pine and floral hops are in the air once this bottle is opened. The scent intensifies as the bottle is poured into the shaker pint glass. The taste is one of green leafy herbs: sage maybe? The malt then shows it’s true colors. This waving flag is the victory column for the battalion of hops that come marching out at the end. The finish lingers and all is well.
Final Analysis: Pinedrops is one of the best examples of an IPA on the market. If it is this good from the bottle, I can only imagine greatness from the tap. Try this beer.
