Legions of matrons carrying steins prepare the drinker for this festive lager by their presence on the label.

Background: Earlier, we enjoyed some excellent American Oktoberfest Beers: Sierra Nevada‘s, Goose Island’s, and one German one by Spaten. Spaten’s was a dissapointment compared to others in it’s class. This beer: Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen should be considered top of it’s class.

Taste & Aroma: This beer smells of Autumnal colors and roasted nuts. The malty aroma sets the tone for a pleasant fall evening spent with loved ones and companions. The flavor is sharp at first, then malty, and then delightfully fluffy at the end. This is a refreshing, yet malty beer that one should savor and treasure. This is a seasonal beer. Savor this season. Enjoy Paulaner Oktoberfest during this season. You’ll be sorrowful if you did not.

A beautiful beer.

Amanda’s Thoughts: This is really good. There is no bite at the end. It is smooth through and through.

Final Analysis: This is a beer you’ll love from a brewery you will soon begin appreciating. Paulaner is a cornerstone of Oktoberfest and their beers are a talisman of German brewing, especially when German brewing is examined with a lens focusing on Bavaria. This is their standard Oktoberfest Lager. The next beer I shall review from them will be their magnificent Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn. For now, get yourself some Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen.

Remember Paulaner’s motto: Gut, Besser, Paulaner.
