Background: Two Brothers brewery is an incredible brewery. When it comes to the Illinois craft beer scene, they offer some of the best brews. I am a big fan of Two Brothers. I’ve reviewed several of their beers before, here and here.
Taste & Aroma: A malty aroma is present here. This is a beer that smells like an ideal winter warmer. The flavor is more complex than the smell. Toasty malt, a spicy hop, and a lingering piney finish with warming booze make this a beer perfect for colder weather. You cannot beat a warming beer for chillier weather. Revelry is a candidate on the short list for this role.
Final Analysis: This is an exceptional ale. Red ales are oftentimes ‘malt bombs’ they are not in particular full flavored beers. This is again an anomaly. I’m happy to say that Two Brothers did a fine job as usual. I’m eager to try this beer on draught but I’ve never seen it available in that fashion.
