Beer: Guinness Rye Pale Ale
Beer Style: Rye Ale
Brewer: Guinness (Heineken)
Abv: 5.0%
Country of Origin: Irish Republic
Serving Methodology: 12 oz bottle poured into pint glass
Background: As you may be aware the Guinness brewery is experimenting with some new styles like this and bringing back some oldies. Some of these are successes. This one I’ve yet to try. I enjoy Rye whisky. The rye beers I’ve had have never been sub par though. Let’s explore.
Taste & Aroma: I can smell freshly cut grass, hay, grain, and maybe just a hint of spice. It is a teaser to some good flavors. Spicy malts, a sugary middle, and a lingering fruity finish at the end makes the tongue tumble as you imbibe this brew. As the beer warms the spicy flavors become more pronounced.
Final Analysis: This is a decent beer. Nothing special here, folks. Now if you like Rye beer this is something to get excited about. Otherwise, don’t loose sleep over this one. If you want a rye beer, I couldn’t really tell you where to go just yet, Cane and Ebel by Two Brothers was better. I’ll have to reacquire that to show you a better Rye Beer.
I hope I can find this one. I’m all about Rye beers. I just had Westbrook Two Claw Rye IPA and it’s amazing.

I’ll keep my eyes open for Westbrook Two Claw. Rye beers are great and I’ll admit I’ve not had too much of them. Thanks for your comment.
