Background: My gorgeous wife got me the Sierra Nevada Snowpack as a component of my Christmas gift. I’m a big fan of Sierra Nevada, as you know. The last beer I reviewed here was their Celebration Ale.
Taste & Aroma: I smell the scent of roasted malt and the fragrance of Maple. We’re off to a good start with these aromas. This beer has a malty start. I can detect the flavors of warm pies, pecans, maple syrup, and a sharp spicy bite that is again mellowed out by the malt and maple syrup. A similar beer to this would be Celebrator, the famous German doppelbock.
Final Analysis: This is an excellent beer with character and you’ll enjoy it immensely. However, your window to enjoy it is narrow. Do yourself a favor and get a hold of this soon. In a blink it shall be gone.
