Background: Sierra Nevada is an exceptional brewery. Their beers are always a treat if you are a fan of American craft beer. I am not too big on coffee stouts, but Sierra Nevada makes the best coffee stout I’ve ever had. Let’s give this a try.

Taste & Aroma: The scent is as you would expect: chocolate nibs and roasted malt. The flavor is what changes my mind. This beer is mainly the flavor of delicious medium roast coffee. The finish is of roasted malt and the lingering warming sensation makes this a beer well worth having.

 

Final Analysis: This is an excellent coffee forward stout. Again, I’m not a fan of coffee stouts, but this is the beer that redefines the style. Well done, Sierra Nevada!
