Background: Lately I have been on a Leinenkugel’s kick. And why should I not be. They have incredible lagers. They may just be the greatest lager brewery. Their original lager is out of this world and I’m glad my curiosity bested me and I sought this out.
Taste & Aroma: This is a grassy smelling beer, simple but aromatic! If a beer smells good generally it will taste great. So how does it taste? This beer is malty with a spicy bite. This is crisp and sharp! There’s a touch of cracker like notes at the finish as well. Two-row malts, six-row malts, and a little bit of corn are used in this beer according to a Beer Advocate contributor, and I would believe that as there is a hint, and a faint hint it is of corn at the finish.
Final Analysis: This is a simple, yet brilliant beer. It is a delciate one as well like Pilsner Urquell. However, this is a beer that is less expensive and still quality. Leinenkugel’s continues to offer quality and value. Drink Leinenkugel beers!
