These cryptic lyrics about water in the desert were my soundtrack oftentimes when I would be running in high school. Soundgarden to me was running music, and Chris Cornell’s voice was the one I wanted to hear when I was building up my mileage for the season.

Hearing of his death today on 05/18/2017 saddens me deeply. Rest in Peace, Chris.
