Gyros are commonplace in Peoria, IL. Not all are created equal. One of my favorite stops for gyros is Pita’s Mediterranean Wraps. Here’s a link to their unofficial page. I recently tried their falafel.

The falafel was earthy, hearty, and had a classic crunchy exterior. Delicious. The gyro was my favorite with its lush, acidic onions, hearty lamb meat, and refreshing tzatziki      sauce. Pita’s has long been my go-to spot for gyros and this trim reminded me of why it is the best gyro in Peoria County.
