This was an excellent debut novel. A world full of magic brought about by different means, a world heavily influenced by demons and angels.

Key’s father makes a highly selfish decision and it ends up nearly destroying his family long after he’s gone. The one bearing the brunt of it is Key, who is born with a curse due to her father’s greed. It is a curse that she can’t control at such a young age and it is highly destructive. Once old enough she leaves home to try and protect her family but also learn how to rid herself of the curse.
