Background: This came in Sam Adams’s Beers of Fall sampler. I can’t tell you much about this beer other than it is a Boston Beer Company product. These beers are generally hit and miss beers. Let’s give this a try.
Taste & Aroma: I’m picking up toasted malt and a slight whiff of cocoa. The label mentions the cocoa. This is a toasty, malty, and cocoa-laden beer with a semi-sweet finish. As the beer warms the cocoa comes in clearer.
Final Analysis: This is a fine beer. It isn’t my favorite, but it certainly is a fine choice for a colder Autumnal evening.
