Serving Method: Bottle poured into pint glass
Background: It has been ages since I’ve had this beer. Possibly six years ago. Why? Been drinking other beers. This is a porter and I don’t feature enough porters and stouts on this blog, especially since we’re still in stout season. Who doesn’t love a stout in winter and any lover of beer will likely say yes to a stout when its close to freezing. They do a great job of warming you up quickly. While this doesn’t have a high Abv, it does have that winter time effect.
Taste & Aroma: This beer smells like vanilla and oak. A hint of sweet sugar is in the nose too. This beer tastes like a flat vanilla root beer but with quality. It is not bad— it is certainly a smooth porter with a slightly overly sweet taste. It is still delicious though. A fine beer.
Final Analysis: This isn’t bad, but I’m well aware of why I’ve not had this beer in close to six years.
